I am an accredited psychodynamic therapist offering a safe, empathic and non-judgmental space for you to unravel what may be a lifetime’s difficulties. I work privately with adults and young people and as a psychotherapist in the complex trauma unit of a flagship NHS clinic. I have more than 30 years’ experience working with adults and young people from 13 to 80-plus in a variety of settings.
I hold a Master’s in Psychodynamic Practice from the University of Oxford and I am a published academic author. I trained previously as an integrative counsellor, both in the UK and internationally. An accredited mediator, I am also a former City executive with many years’ experience of high-pressure workplaces in the UK and abroad.
I am experienced in working both with adults and young people. I have particular interests in:
grief and loss
anxiety and depression
disability including neurodivergence
complex trauma including sexual and psychological abuse.
What I Offer
I work psychodynamically, exploring how your past may be impacting the present, but in a contemporary and relational way.
While CBT focuses on reducing symptoms, psychodynamic therapy explores the deeper story behind your challenges with the aim of creating long-lasting change. It can be transformative, providing a sense of relief, clarity and renewed hopefulness.
Work may be short, for just a few sessions or longer-term. In any event, our time together is always tailored to your specific needs and wishes.
