About Me

Alison is both a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, and a Clinical Neuropsychologist. She has over 20 years of experience helping people with a wide range of difficulties, from anxiety, work stress and depression, trauma, brain injury and dementia. Alison has worked for many years within the NHS as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.

Psychological Assessment and Therapy

The first session is a collaborative conversation to fully explore and understand what is happening. At the end of the first session we will discuss how we might best work together to help move towards the positive change that you want.

In therapy, Alison’s approach is compassionate and open. Her focus is on your goals or aims. She uses evidence based approaches, primarily CBT, ACT and EMDR, and where needed other evidence based treatment approaches that will make the most difference to your life. Alison sees adults for assessment and therapy for a range of difficulties (see list below)

Neuropsychological Assessment and Intervention

In her neuropsychological work, Alison specialises in:

Neurorehabilitation for acquired brain injury, such as a stroke or a Traumatic Brain Injury to help work around memory or other difficulties.

Neuropsychological assessment, help and support for people with worries about memory, other changes, or concerns about dementia.

Neuropsychological assessment and cognitive rehabilitation for people with memory, concentration and other cognitive/thinking problems after long Covid.

Support and therapeutic interventions for people with a progressive neurological condition, such as MS, or Parkinson’s Disease.

Adjustment for people living with a brain injury to help reduce distress and promote well-being.
