About Me

Xena is an ACP registered Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with over 13 years’ experience of working clinically with young people and their families.

Xena is trained to deliver Psychotherapy Assessments, long and short term Psychotherapy, parent-child work and parent work. Child Psychotherapists are trained to help children to unlock what lies underneath their difficulties and better understand themselves. The approach is tailored to the individual child, and work in an age-appropriate way, assessing and supporting the whole child, their family or care unit, through a combination of talking, play and drawing.

In addition, Xena can deliver CBT, Trauma Focussed CBT, ACT, elements of DBT and MBT-F.

Xena has a holistic approach which takes into consideration factors such as social, emotional, generational, physical, cultural, and neurological factors, and how they impact on the young person’s emotional wellbeing and functioning.

Xena is experienced in working with depression, anxiety, trauma, neurodiversity, learning disabilities, children looked after. Currently, Xena works with young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.

Xena also lectures on the Psychotherapy module of the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Training Programme at the University of Hertfordshire.
